Kitchen Islands are an upgrade to the Umbare Basic Kitchen Remodel Package and are $5000.00
Packages include up to 36 square feet of island space, (measured countertop). Beyond 36 square feet, each additional square foot is $145.00.

Kitchen Islands, whether included in the Premier and Elite Remodel Packages or as an add-on to the Basic Package, is 36 square feet total (measure using countertop square footage). However, this does not limit the size, shape, or functionality, as you can add additional square footage at $145.00 per to create the island of your dreams.

Kitchens come in many shapes and sizes, and when we decide to remodel them, islands are always a great feature, if not already pre-existing. Three different circumstances can determine the cost of a kitchen island in our packages.
1.) New Island - If your current floor plan does not have an island and you wish to add one, this would be considered a new island.
NOTE: NEW ISLANDS ARE BY LAW REQUIRED TO HAVE ELECTRICAL SERVICE. THE CHARGE FOR NEW ELECTRICAL SERVICE TO AN ISLAND IS $2,879.00.

This fee includes a new electrical service run from the existing outer walls to the island. A licensed and insured Umbare Electrician provides, materials, permits and inspections of work as required.
2.) Relocations - If you have an existing island but want to move the island, this may or may not require movement of the current electrical services. If the electrical will still be located central to the island, this would incur no additional fees. However, as is the case with new islands, if the service is relocated, there will be a charge of $2,879.00.
3.) Existing - If you already have an island and the new island will remain in the same location, there is no fee for disconnecting and reconnecting existing electrical services.
If you're not sure whether or not you will need to add our Kitchen Island Electrical Upgrade Package, don't worry. When we do our site visit, our Umbare Licensed Contractor will determine what is required for your kitchen remodel.

The base, or what is referred to as the island, is made up of cabinets. However, the cabinets can be replaced with appliances, drawers, nooks, or other items available to you in our custom cabinetry and appliances selections.
A base can hold utilities, gas, electric and plumbing as well. A well-constructed island adds functionality and usable workspace to any kitchen.

If you have chosen the Basic Kitchen Remodel Package, excellent granite choices are standard for this package.
If you have chosen the Premier or Elite Kitchen Remodel Package, your countertop choices are premium quality granite or quartz.
Elite level granite and quartz options can be added as an upgrade to Basic and Premier Packages.

Kitchen Islands in Umbare packages can accommodate cooktops, stoves, dishwashers, sinks, refrigeration and more. The cost to bring the utility service to the island is the only consideration.
New Electrical Service from wall to the Island is $2,879.00
New Plumbing Service from the wall to the Island is $2,479.00
A certified gas installation plumber does new Gas Service to the Island, and this is included in the plumbing fees listed above.
NOTE: If service is pre-existing at island location there are no additional fees for disconnect and reconnect to new appliances and utilities.
NOTING: FLORIDA STATE BUILDING CODE REQUIRES ALL-NEW ISLANDS TO HAVE ELECTRICAL SERVICE.

FLORIDA STATE BUILDING CODE REQUIRES KITCHEN ISLANDS TO HAVE ELECTRICAL SERVICE.
If you are replacing a pre-existing kitchen island in the same location, there is NO CHARGE for an Umbare licensed electrician to disconnect and reconnect service. This is included in the package price.
If you are adding a new island or moving the Island to a new location, the fee is $2,879.00
A licensed, insured Umbare electrician performs all electrical service and all necessary materials, permits and inspection are included and made per current building codes.

No, you do not have to add plumbing to your new island. It is not required by code.
However, should you decide to add a dishwasher, sink or gas range to your island plumbing will be a necessity.
If you are replacing a pre-existing kitchen island in the same location, there is NO CHARGE for a licensed plumber to disconnect and reconnect service. This is included in the package price.
If you are adding a new island or moving the island to a new location, the fee is $2,879.00

If you have gas service in your home and enjoy the use of the gas in both your range top and oven you may choose to move them to the kitchen island.
If you are replacing a pre-existing kitchen island in the same location, there is NO CHARGE for a licensed, gas certified, plumber to disconnect and reconnect service. This is included in the package price.
If you are adding a new island or moving the island to a new location, there is no fee if the plumbing is being moved as well. If you are moving gas only, it is $879.00

When adding a new island, relocating an island or adding new utility services to an island, the floor may need to be removed.
In the case of new utility services to an island, the electrical, plumbing and gas will all need to travel within the floor to the new island location. This will require the removal of existing flooring. We do our best remove and re-use the existing flooring after the trench is completed. However, the preservation of old flooring is not always guaranteed. We will, however, to the best of our ability, locate a similar match to the existing floor.
However, we also offer the option to add new affordable, quality flooring to your kitchen remodel. Check out our flooring page and select the floor you love, and we can add it to your package.
